Automations are useful for keeping a demo library fresh, producing personalized videos for specific contacts on a cadence, or generating videos timed to product releases.

Scheduling

Each automation runs at the time defined by its hour and day fields. hour sets the hour of day (in UTC, 0–23) and day sets which day it runs on. Together, they control when the automation fires on its recurring schedule.
Plan your automation schedules around when your audience is most likely to engage—for example, early in the week for sales outreach campaigns.

Recipient contacts

You can attach recipient contacts to an automation to generate personalized demos. When a contact is included, Demomatic incorporates their details—name, job title, company, industry, and any additional notes—into the narration and on-screen text. If notify_contacts is enabled, Demomatic sends each contact with an email address a link to the finished video after generation completes. Contacts can be added manually or synced from a connected CRM. See the CRM integrations guide for setup instructions.

How to create an automation

1

Choose a domain

Select the domain (your connected application) that this automation will record.
2

Write a prompt

Describe what you want the demo to show. Be specific about the feature or workflow—the same guidelines that apply to on-demand video prompts apply here.
3

Configure video settings

Set your font, voice, music, background, and captions preferences.
4

Set the schedule

Choose the hour and day for the automation to run.
5

Add recipients (optional)

Add contacts if you want personalized demos or email notifications on completion.

Relationship to video generation

When an automation runs, it triggers the same video generation pipeline used for all Demomatic videos—authenticating, navigating, recording, editing, and storing the result in your library. The finished video is automatically saved and available for sharing or embedding.
