This guide walks you through creating an account, connecting your app, and generating your first demo video.
1

Create an account

Go to demomatic.tech and sign up. You can create an account with your email address or via Google or GitHub.Once you sign in, you land on your Demomatic dashboard.
2

Add your first domain

A domain is the web application Demomatic will navigate to record demo videos.
  1. In the dashboard sidebar, click Domains.
  2. Click Add domain.
  3. Enter your application’s URL (for example, https://app.yourproduct.com).
  4. Give the domain a name and click Save.
Your application must be accessible over the internet. Demomatic navigates your live app during recording.
3

Generate your first demo video

  1. Select the domain you want to generate a video for, from the current domain dropdown.
  2. Navigate to the Playground page.
  3. In the prompt field, describe the workflow you want to record. Be specific about the steps you want to show.
  4. Update the editing style by clicking the settings icon in the input box. Then click apply.
  5. Click Generate.
Demomatic navigates your app, records the interactions, and produces the video. Generation typically takes a few minutes depending on the length of the workflow.
Write prompts that describe user actions step by step. For example: “Show a user signing in, navigating to the Projects page, clicking ‘New project’, filling in a name and description, and clicking Create.” The more specific you are, the more accurate and useful the demo will be.

Share your video

Once the video is ready, it appears in the playground. To not flood your library, videos have to be explicitly saved if generated in playground. To save to your library, click the file icon under the video. To share your video:
  • Go to the Library and click the video or a short cut is click the arrow button underneath the video in the playground.
  • Click Copy link to get a shareable URL.
  • Click Embed to get an embed snippet for your website or docs.
  • Add the video to Series, for sharable grouping of related videos (ex: getting started videos)
  • To export or access the video via API, see the API reference.
You can also add a call-to-action to your video to capture leads or drive bookings. See the CTA setup guide.
